Richard Whitney1

M, b. 18 April 1687, d. 18 November 1773
     Richard was born on Friday, 18 April 1687 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of John Whitney and Elizabeth Smith. Richard married Hannah Darling on 7 April 1709 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. On 18 October 1709, Richard's father gave him land in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. On 27 April 1713, he was granted a piece of land to build a home & saw-mill by the town meeting on a part called Stratfield Society, which lay in the town of Fairfield. Richard and Hannah had children: Elijah [4/16/1710] , Samuel [10/05/1711] , Richard [9/01/1715] , John [1/17/1720-3/29/1805] and Daniel 4/24/1723]. Richard departed this life on Thursday, 18 November 1773 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, at age 86 years and 7 months.
