Jean-Baptiste Marcotte

     Jean-Baptiste was born on Sunday, 4 October 1676 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada, at the Manor of Dombourg. He was the son of Jacques Marcotte and Elisabeth Isabelle Salle. He was christened there on 12 October 1676 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Jean-Baptiste married Marie Pacquin on 12 June 1708 in Ste-Familie, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada, at Ste-Famile Church.² Jean-Baptiste & Marie had children: Marie-Josephe [3/31/1709-7/07/1710], a child [3/08/1711-3/12/1711], a child [12/28/1711-12/28/1711, Jean-Baptiste [11/20/1712-11/15/1739][m. 8/07/1738 Angelique Paquet], Marie-Anne [5/15/1715-7/11/1795][m. 6/10/1736 Jacques Perrault], Marie-Josephte [1/04/1718-9/04/1785][m. 7/27/1738 Louis-Joseph Robert dit St Amand], Marie Isabelle Elisabeth [8/15/1720-5/21/1758][m. 11/06/1747 Pierre-Joseph Groleau], Marie Marguerite [1722-11/01/1784][m. 11/06/1739], Joseph [1723-10/04/1749], Dorothee [1/23/1725] & Marie Therese [2/20/1728-7/30/1728].³ Jean-Baptiste departed this life on Sunday, 25 February 1731 in Ile-d'Orleans at age 54 years, 4 months and 21 days. He was buried there in Ste-Famile Church on Monday, 26 February 1731.⁴
