Phebe Little

     Phebe was born in 1789 in New Cornwall, Orange County, New York. She was the daughter of Robert Little and Elizabeth Townsend. Phebe married Nathaniel Wright circa 1809 in Orange County, New York. Nathaniel & Phebe had children: Townsend [1810][m. Hannah Young], Henry [1815], Lydia L. [1827], Phebe A. [1825] and several others. She was buried there in Warwick Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Phebe Little Wright Died April 15, 1837 Aged 79 years.² 15 October 1850, Phebe and her husband, Nathaniel, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census living in the home of their son at Warwick, Orange County, New York. [21 New York], & laborer: Ab'm Cherry [16 New York].³ August 1860, Phebe and her husband Nathaniel were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Warwick, Orange County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Nath'l Wright [73 New York], his wife: Phebe [71 New York], Elizabeth Titus [69 New York], Henry [45 New York], & Phebe A. [25 New York].⁴ Phebe's husband, Nathaniel, died on 31 July 1866 in Warwick leaving her a widow. Phebe departed this life on Monday, 15 April 1867 in Warwick at age 78 years.
