Genevieve-Elisabeth Marcotte

Genevieve-Elisabeth was born on Sunday, 26 June 1678 in Pointe-aux-Ecureuils, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. On 27 June 1678, she was christened in ville de Quebec at the Basilica of Notre Dame.1 She was the daughter of Jacques Marcotte and Elisabeth Isabelle Salle. Genevieve-Elisabeth married Henri Germain dit Belisle, son of Robert Germain and Marie Coignard, on 26 August 1698 in Cap-Sante, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada, at Ste-Familie Church.2 Genevieve-Elisabeth's husband, Henri, died on 31 December 1761 in Deschambault, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Genevieve-Elisabeth departed this life on Wednesday, 19 December 1764 in Deschambault at age 86 years, 5 months and 23 days. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Joseph on Thursday, 20 December 1764.3
