Richard Greene

     Richard was born on Tuesday, 8 February 1660/61 in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island.¹ He was the son of John Greene and Anna Almy. Richard married Eleanor Sayles on 16 February 1692/93 in Warwick.² Richard and Eleanor had children: Audrey [1/08/1694], John [11/07/1695-12/06/1695], Amy [10/04/1696], Isabel [9/03/1698], Ellen [2/19/1702], Mercy 4/09/1704-5/25/1711], Mary [2/16/1707].³ & John 12/23/1709] Richard made his will on 20 May 1711 at www, Kent County, Rhode Island. Richard departed this life on Sunday, 24 May 1711 in Warwick at age 50 years, 3 months and 16 days.³ He was buried at Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island, in Spring Greene Burial Ground. The inscription on his tombston reads: Here lyeth the body of Richard Greene esq. He dyed in ye 60th year of his age May 24 1711.⁴ His will was probated on 2 July 1711.
