Peter Greene
M, b. 4 February 1654/55, d. 12 August 1723
Peter was born on Thursday, 4 February 1654/55 in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of John Greene and Anna Almy. Peter married Elizabeth Arnold on 16 December 1680 in Warwick.2 . Peter and Elizabeth had children: Peter [1/20/1683-12/03/1767] [m. 6/29/1710 Keziah Davis], Sarah [10/27/1685-12/05/1724] [m. 11/28/1706 Stephen Arnold], John [3/01/1686/87-5/30/1758] [m. 10/25/1719 Mary Greene], Stephen [9/19/1688-4/10/172], [unmarried], William [7/29/1690-3/17/1766] [m. 2/14/1712/13 Sarah Medbury], Elisha [2/13/1692-3/29/1767] [m. Mary Greene], Barlow [12/24/1695] [m. 10/21/1717 Lydia Hardin].1 Peter made his will on 14 May 1718 at Warwick.
To Son Peter Homestead farm & mansion house etc. where I now dwell – lot in Warwick which I call Rocky Farm and one share of meadow bought of uncle Thomas Greene at south end of Mashapogue Pond & 20 acres of lot in Warwick Neck etc. – To six sons Peter, John, Stephen, William, Elias & Barlo all right etc in farms in Coweset and Rightin Chipponoxet – To son Barlo – all right in part of 7 men’s island which I received by deed - - To grandchildren living at my death each on Bible of 10 or 12 shillings - - To son Elisha 12 pounds - - To negro woman Hagar 10 shillings and to each of her children 5 shillings [ that they tenderly care for his wife] - - - Sons Peter John Stephen & William appointed executors. - - - - - also from the full will - - - “Foreasmuch as I has pleased God to visit my well beloved wife Elizabeth with a distemper for many years, whereby she is not in her right senses; therefore, for the tender love I have for her, I appoint that my execiutors shall carefully provide for her comfort.3
Peter departed this life on Thursday, 12 August 1723 in Warwick at age 68 years, 6 months and 8 days.1
