Elizabeth Feake1

Elizabeth was born in 1633 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Robert Feake and Elizabeth Ffownes. Elizabeth married Captain John Underhill, son of John Underhill and Honor Pawley, in 1658 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Elizabeth's husband, John, died on 21 July 1672 in Matinecock, Queens County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Elizabeth departed this life before 4 November 1675 in the Town of Oyster Bay. On this date, Elizabeth was noted in the Letter of Administration of her husband's estate as being "deceased".

She and her sister, Hannah, early attached themselves to the Society of Friends, and became active and zealous members of that religious sect. She survived her husband, who died at his residence in Killingsworth [in Matinecock], L.I., in 1672. She died at the same place in 1674-1675, and was buried in the ancient burial plot there, beside her husband, where a rude stone at her grave with initials E. V. rudely carved upon it, may still be seen. Issue: Deborah b. Nov. 29, 1659, m. Henry Townsend, of Oyster Bay; Nathaniel b. at Oyster Bay, Feb. 22, 1663; Hannah b. Dec. 2, 1666; Elizabeth b.
