Abigail Burt

F, b. 8 November 1709, d. 12 July 1797
     Abigail was born on Friday, 8 November 1709 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Benjamin Burt and Sarah Belden. Abigail married James Wallace on 12 February 1736.1 James and Abigail had children: James [4/30/1737], Abigail [12/21/1740], Thomas [5/30 1743], Mary [8/25/1746], Abijah [8/13/1748], Mariah [10/22/1750], James [7/28/1752], Sarah [7/28/1752], Jacob [6/17/1754], Lucy [4/10/1757].2 Abigail departed this life on Wednesday, 12 July 1797 in North Salem, Westchester County, New York, at age 87 years, 8 months and 4 days. She was buried there in June Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Abibgail wife of Capt. James Wallce Died - Jul 12 1797 - Her 85th year.3
