Mary Spencer

Mary was born on Tuesday, 18 May 1655 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Sergeant Thomas Spencer and Sarah Bearding. Mary married Thomas Root on 7 October 1675 in Westfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Thomas & Mary had children: John [12/25/1676-10/01/1744] [m. Mary Leonard], Samuel, Elizabeth, Sarah [7/27/1683-4/04/1739] [m. Israel Dewey], Timothy [12/03/1685-11/01/1743] [m. 1710 Sarah Pease] & Joseph. Mary departed this life on Saturday, 4 November 1690 in Westfield at age 35 years, 5 months and 17 days.1 She was buried at Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut, in North Cemetery.2
