     Jannetje Theunis was born before 22 December 1641 in Kings County, Long Island, New York. On 22 December 1641, she was christened in the City, County & State of New York. The witnesses were Michiel ter Heyken, Rachel Vynen & Petronel Lupolt.¹ She was the daughter of Theunis Nyssen (?) and Phoebe Jans Sales. Jannetje Theunis married Jaems Woedert de Ruyter circa 1667 in New York. She and Jaems were blessed with 9 children.
