     William was born in 1482 in Rougham, County Norfolk, England. William made his will on 30 January 1540.

In the name of God Amen the 30th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand five hundred and forty I William Yelverton of Rougham therefore ______ being of whole mind and of good and __________ by God Almighty make this my testament and last will in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and the the Blessed Saint Mary and to all the Holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the church of Our Lady in Rougham aforesaid. Item I give to the _______ _______ of the same church for my tithe and obligation which truly forgotten and wrongfully _________ Item I give for the reparation of the same church twenty shillings. Item I would that my executors shall give to poor people at my funeral day so much money as they shall think that may be borne. Item I will my executors shall make the restitution to all persons I wrongly performed as they shall think in their _______ that I have done any wrong and at the _____ shall or may ________ . The residue of all my goods chattels __________moveable and immovable _____plate ______household and all other _____ I put them at the discretion of my executors they to be good ____ all my children and to give to everyone of them as they shall ______. Item also that my executors do pay my debts _______. I make and ordain Margaret Yelverton my wife and Sir Roger ________ knight they to do arranging as I hand _________ my last will and testament declared. [names witnesses]

William departed this life in Rougham. He was buried there in the Church of St. Mary's. His will was probated on 17 August 1541. An Inquisition Post Mortem took place during the 33rd year of Henry VIII [22 April 1541-21 April 1542].3
