Rachael Hunt

F, b. 6 March 1703/4, d. before 21 March 1761
     Rachael was born on Thursday, 6 March 1703/4 in Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York, at "Grove Farm". She was the daughter of Josiah Hunt and Abigail Heustis. Rachael married Edmund Fowler, son of Henry Fowler IV and Abigail Hoyt. Edmund and Rachael had children: Gilbert, Edmund [not in mother's will], Solomon, [-1763] [m. 5/30/1761 Sarah Hunt], Rachael [m. Mr. Palmer], Hannah [m. Mr. Butler] & Abigail [-before 1/03/1761 - unmarried].1









Rachael's husband, Edmund, died before 5 January 1748 in Eastchester, leaving her a widow. Rachael made her will on 30 November 1760.

"Widow." Leaves to son Solomon two thirds of real estate, including house, orchard, etc., and all the salt meadow at Hutchinsons. The other third to be sold. Mentions " my 3 daughters, Rachel Palmer, Hannah Butler, Abigail Fowler^' " my son Gilbert, and his son Philips " In laying out the two thirds, Solomon is to have the wood land adjoining the road from Briggs to Theophilus Bartow s.'' A codicil dated Jan. 3, 1761, states that her daughter Abigail is dead.1,2

Rachael departed this life in Eastchester. Her will was probated on 21 March 1761.
