     JoAnn Virginia was born on Friday, 3 October 1919 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan, at the Highland Park Hospital. Her father was present at her birth. Her parents home was at 106 Colorado, Highland Park. She was the daughter of Rice Alva Howell and Lucile Viola Leggett. In 1920, the family moved to their new home at 588 Southfield, Birmingham, Michigan. JoAnn Virginia married Bob Pollock, son of Victor Montieth Pollock and Mary Ethel Meraw, on 30 May 1941 in Birmingham, Bloomfield Township at the Holy Name Church Rectory. Father David J. Duncan presided over the marriage. Billie Howell and Phil Pollock witnesses the couple. A reception followed in the gardens of the Howell home. On 30 May 1941, Robert & JoAnn resided at the Birmingham Manor Apartments at 327 Southfield. On 1 October 1950, they moved into their new home they had built at 695 Hanna Street, Birmingham. In 1951, they moved to 588 Southfield, Birmingham, the home in which JoAnn had been raised. In September of 1963, they moved to a smaller home at 917 South Glenhurst Drive, Birmingham. She was a very caring & loving mother and devoted wife. Her family always came first in her life. She was always there for everybody. JoAnn died on Wednesday, 3 June 1992 in Birmingham at the family home at 917 South Glenhurst Drive at age 72 years and 8 months from lung cancer that had spread to her brain. She had been ill for several months. She passed away quietly in her sleep. Her daughters had been able to spend time talking with her earlier in the day. She was buried on 5 June 1992 in nearby Southfield, Southfield Township in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Her funeral services were held at Holy Name Church, Birmingham.2
