Anne Grymwade

F, b. before 30 November 1570, d. 24 March 1639
     Anne was born in Rattlesden, County Suffolk, England. She was christened there on 30 November 1570 in St. Nicolas Church.1 She was the daughter of Edmund Grymwade and Rose Lumpkin. Anne married Philip Smythe, son of Philip Smythe and Joan (?), on 1 June 1590 in Erwarton Parish, County Suffolk, England, at St. Mary the Virgin. Anne's husband, Philip, died before 27 March 1631 in Whatfield, County Suffolk, England, leaving her a widow. Anne departed this life on Thursday, 24 March 1639 in Whatfield.2 She was buried at Whatfield, County Suffolk, England, in the churchyard of St. Margaret.1 Anne made her will on 5 April 1639. Anne Smith late of Whatfield deceased widow did by word of mouth divers tymes before her death who died upon the 24th daye of Marche 1639 declare her will . . . her goods should be divided by equal portions amongst her children that should survive her . . . Matthew Andrewes o Whatfield her sonne in Lawe to bee her Executor . . . Witnesses:L William Grymwade Richard Wyeles.2 Her will was probated on 24 July 1639.
