Mary Gardiner

     Mary was born on Thursday, 28 September 1628 in Southwold Parish, County Suffolk, England. She was the daughter of Stephen and Mary [Warren] Gardiner. Mary married Col. John Yonges, son of Reverand John Yonges and Joan Herrington, in 1653 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.¹ John and Mary had children: John, Thomas, Bethea, [m. Mr. Gilbert], Martha [m. Mr. Gardiner] & Deborah [m. Mr. Longworth]. Mary departed this life on Tuesday, 24 May 1689 in the Town of Southold at age 60 years, 7 months and 26 days. She was buried there in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
