Richard Gaylord

     Richard was born in Pitminster Parish, Somersetshire, England. He was christened there on 1 April 1591 in St. Andrew & St. Mary Church. He was the son of Hugh Gaylord and Alice (?) Richard married Mary Pocock on 22 April 1616 in Pitminster Parish at St. Andrew & St. Mary Church. Richard's wife, Mary, died before 12 March 1616/17 in Pitminster Parish, leaving him a widower. Richard married 2nd Martha Bennett on 24 September 1617 in Pitminster Parish at St. Andrew & St. Mary Church.¹ Richard and Elizabeth had children: Elizabeth, Jane, Martha, Catherine [dy], Sarah, Robert, Hannah, Mary [dy], Joseph [dy], Richard [dy] & Rachel.¹
