Rebecca Fowler

Rebecca was born circa 1720 in Eastchester, Westchester County, New York. She was the daughter of William Fowler and Mary (?) Rebecca married Samuel Haight, son of James Haight and Anna Pope, in 1741 in New York. Samuel and his family occupied 250 acres of land belonging to the Phillipse Manor as early as 1745. He an annual rent of three pounds until 1785 when he bought the land from the State of New York for 988 pounds. Phillipse has lost the land by forfiture due to his allegiance to the crown. The point of junction of the three towns of New Castle, North Castle & Mount Pleasant is on that property. Thomas and Mary Leggett also lived here at Phillipse Manor. They were Quakers. Rebecca departed this life in Phillipse Manor, Westchester County, New York.
