John Ferris II1
M, b. 1667, d. before 15 November 1729
John was born in 1667 in Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York. He was the son of John Ferris I and Mary Jackson. John married Elizabeth Clarke circa 1726 in New York. John was a trustee of Westchester in 1686 as was his father. He was first noted as Junior in 1682 and father as senior in 1683. In 1698, John took Oath of Allegiance to the King of England. John & Elizabeth had children: John III [circa 1627 m. Susannah] & Josiah [1730]. John made his will on 19 October 1729 at Westchester, Westchester County, New York.
In the name of God, Amen. October 19, 1729. I, John Ferris, of the Borough Town of Westcheter, Esq., being sick. My executors are to sell all my estate and pay all debts. I leave to my wife Elizabeth, 100 pounds. Whereas my wife is now with child, if it be a boy he shall have £100, to be put in interest, and the interest to be paid to my wife, in consideration of bring him up. If it be a girl, she is to have £40. I leave all the rest to my son, John, and my executors are to pay for his bringing up and schooling. I make my brother, James Ferris, and my brother-in-law Edward Burling, executors. Witnesses, William Forster, Henry Gillam, John Smith.2
John departed this life before 15 November 1729 in Westchester. His will was probated on 15 November 1729.
