Marie-Charlotte Chauvin

     Marie-Charlotte was born on Wednesday, 5 April 1651 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was the adopted daughter of Jean Gervais, her mother's second husband. She was christened on the same day there in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ She was the daughter of Michel Chauvin and Anne Archambault. Marie-Charlotte married Jean Baudouin, son of Jean Baudouin and Jeanne Bretel, on 27 November 1663 in Montreal at the Basilica of Notre Dame.² 1666, Marie-Charlotte and her husband, Jean, were listed on the Canadian Census in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Baudouin 27 years & his wife, Charlotte Chauvin 15 years.³ 1667, Marie-Charlotte and her husband, Jean, were listed on the Canadian Census at Montreal. Enumerated in this household were Jean Bauduoin [29 years], Charlotte [16 years] & Jean [1 year] at Montreal.⁴ 1681, Marie-Charlotte and her husband, Jean, were listed on the Canadian Census at Montreal. Enumerated in this household were Jean Baudouin 42 years, his wife: Charlotte Chauvin 32 years, children: Jean 15 years, Anne 12 years, Guillaume 9 years, Jacques 7 years, Francois 5 years & Cecile 2 years. He owned one gun, 8 bushels of corn & 8 arpents in value.⁵ Marie-Charlotte's husband, Jean, died circa 25 September 1713 in Bas-de-L'ile, Montreal, leaving her a widow. Marie-Charlotte departed this life in Bas-de-L'ile, Montreal. She was buried there in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal in the churchyard of St-Enfant-Jesus.⁶
