Martha Burt1

     Martha was born on Wednesday, 3 April 1743 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Daniel Burt & Hannah Benedict. Martha married Daniel Whitney, son of Daniel Whitney and Thankful Burt, circa 1766 in Warwick, Orange County, New York. Martha's husband, Daniel, died in June 1784 in Wyoming Region, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, leaving her a widow. Martha departed this life on Saturday, 29 March 1817 in Big Flats, Tioga County, New York, at age 73 years, 11 months and 26 days.
