Francis Bradley

M, d. before 22 October 1689
     Francis was born. He was of Branford, Massachusetts. He removed to Fairfield in 1660 where he was a freeman in 1664.1 Francis married Ruth Barlow, daughter of John Barlow I and Ann (?), after 1660 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.2 Francis & Ruth had children: John, Francis, Daniel, Joseph, Ruth [m. Thomas Williams], & Abigail.3 Francis made his will on 22 January 1689 at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

In the name of God, Amen. I, Francis Bradley, Sen', of Fairficld, in die County of Fairfield, in New England, being weekly in body, and not knowing the day of my death and disolution, yet of sound and perfect memory and understanding, doe make and ordaine this as my last will and testament, abbergating and making of none effect all odaer and former wills whatsoever made by me: Imprimis: I give and bequeath my soule unto die hands of my mercy full Creator and redcmer, hoping by the alone merits of Jesus Christ my Savore to have the pardon and remission of all my sins: and my body to be comly ntered according to the decresion of my Executors hereafter mentioned, hoping for a joyful reserrection at the greate day: and for that temporal estate that it hath pleased God in his grace to bestow upon me, I Disspose of as follower after just Debts and funeral Charges are first Discharged: I give unto my Loveing wife Ruth Bradley, the sum of ten pounds, to be paid her out of my moveable estate, besides the use of one third part of my Lands during her widowhood, as I have appointed my sons to alow her, also I give her the use of one third part of all my moveable Estate dureing her widowhood. Item : I give and bequeath unto my loveing son John Bradley six pence, I having formerly given him his portion. Item : I give and bequeath unto my Loveing sonns, viz. Francis, Daniell and Joseph Bradley all my remaining Estate, to each an equal proportion ; and my will is that my two sons Francis and Dan" shall pay unto their Sisters, Ruth the wife of Thomas Williams, and Abigail Bradley, the sum of forty pounds to each one of them, an eaqual proportion, to be payed them within five years after my sonns shal attaine their respective age of twenty one years : my will is that my sonns shal receive their portions when they attaine their respective age of twenty one years: and I doe desire and apoint my wel beloved sonn John Bradley and Eliphalet Hill to be Executors of this my Last will and testament; and that this is my Last will and testiment I have hereunto set to my hand and scale this 22 day of Jeneuary, in the fourth year of his majesties reigene, Annoque Domini, 1688* (the words) my sonns), and (seal) was interlined before signed.

Francis departed this life in Fairfield. The inventory of Francis's estate was taken on Saturday, 22 October 1689. His will was probated on 7 November 1689.
