Ignace Bonhomme dit Beaupre1

Ignace was born in 1646 in La Rochelle, Charente, Poitou-Charentes, France.2 He was the son of Nicolas Bonhomme and Catherine Gouget. Ignace married Agnes Morin, daughter of Noël Morin and Hélène Desportes, on 12 January 1671 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.3 1681, Ignace and Agnes were listed on the Canadian Census in Sillery, ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Ignace Bonhomme [37 years], his wife: Agnes Morin [40 years], Jacque Gaudry [23 years], Nicolas Gaudry [16 years], Agnes Gaudry [14 years], Joseph Gaudry [11 years], Marie [10 years], Anne [8 years], Anne-Agnes [6 years], Marie [4 years] & Ignace [2 years].4 Ignace's wife, Agnes, died on 30 August 1687 in ville de Quebec leaving him a widower. A contract for the marriage of Ignace and Anne Poirier was signed on 31 July 1691 at Ste-Foy, ville de Quebec. The contract was written by Gilles Ragot stating that Ignace was the widower of Marie Annne Morin and that Anne was the widow of Jacques Gaudry.5 Ignace's wife, Anne, died on 31 January 1704 in Ste-Foy, ville de Quebec leaving him a widower. Ignace departed this life on Tuesday, 21 April 1711 in Ste-Foy, ville de Quebec at age 65 years. He was buried there in the churchyard of Notre Dame de la Foy Church on Wednesday, 22 April 1711.6
