James was born. James married Martha Barlow, daughter of John Barlow I and Ann (?), circa 1650.1,2 James and Martha had children: John [1651], Elizabeth [1654-d.y.], James [1656-1691], Anne Martha [1658] [m. Joseph Buckley], Deborah [1660] [m. Samuel Hull], Elizabeth [1664] [m. John Darling], Joseph [7/07/1662-3/06/1697] [m. Abigail Norton]. James made his will on 14 November 1694 at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
He provided for his wife, Martha, & gives to his son Joseph all the rest of his estate, provided he paid the following legacies: Viz. an annual, stipulated support to his mother, Martha, to daughter Martha, wife of Joseph Buckley, who had had a larger marriage dower than her sisters £15; to daughter Deborah, wife o Samuel Hull, £23; to daughter Elizabeth, John Darling, £23. He confirmed to the children of his deceased son James, lands he had deeded their father; & to his eldest grandson David Beers, his Wolve’s swamp & Paul’s Neck Division.
