Appalonia was born in the City, County & State of New York. On 18 March 1702, she was christened at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York. The witnesses were Thomas Eckes & Appolona Sorts, wife of Jan Eckes.1 She was the daughter of Dirck Gysbertszen Uyt ten Bogaert and Elisabeth Jans Eckerszen. Appalonia Dirckszen married Cornelis Tarp on 21 September 1729 at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York.2 The family resided in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
