Sgt. John Sutliffe1

     John was born in 1698 in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Sgt. Nathaniel Sutliffe and Sarah Savage. John married Mehitable Plumb in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. John's wife, Mehitable, died on 17 August 1751 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower. John married Sarah Squires on 19 January 1754 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. John departed this life on Wednesday, 18 May 1757 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He was buried in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut, in the Old Durham Cemetery.
