     Abigail was born in 1708 in Sands Point, Cow Neck, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of John Sands and Sybil Ray. Abigail married John Thomas, son of Rev. John Thomas, on 19 February 1729/30 in New York. The family resided at Harrison, Westchester Co., New York. Abigail's husband, John, died on 22 May 1777 in Provost Prison in the City, County & State of New York, leaving her a widow. She was buried in Bedford, Brooklyn, Kings County, Long Island, New York. Abigail departed this life on Sunday, 4 August 1782 in Harrison, Westchester County, New York.
