Benjamin Pell1

M, b. 1750, d. 2 March 1828
     Benjamin was born in 1750 in Pellham Manor, Westchester County, New York. He was the son of Joshua Pell and Phebe Palmer. Benjamin married Marianna Ferris, daughter of John Ferris and Marianna Hunt, on 25 November 1778 in Westchester, Westchester County, New York.2 Benjamin & Marianna had children: William Ferris [9/--/1779-10/28/1840][m. 11/11/1802 Mary Shipley], Maria [m. Jacob Trewell Walden], Alfred Sands [5/01/1786-4/20/1831][m. Adelia Duane], Gilbert [4/15/1788][m. Eliza Birkbeck] & Ferris [10/15/1790-1850][m. 11/06/1827 Mariana Channing]. Benjamin was a Quaker. He served with the Loyalist during the Revolution and was forced to flee to Canada. He probably went to Sheleburne, Nova Scotia and returned to New York City after the war. Benjamin's wife, Marianna, died before 25 April 1795 in New York, leaving him a widow. Benjamin departed this life on Sunday, 2 March 1828 in New York at age 78 years.
