Joseph Mercereau

     Joseph was born on Tuesday, 22 July 1687 in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 24 July 1687 in the church of La Visitation.1 Joseph married Marie-Josephe Caillas, daughter of Pierre Caillas and Marie-Therese Aure, on 13 January 1715 in Champlain at the church of La Visitation.2 Joseph & Marie-Josephe had children: Marie-Josephe [1/28/1716-5/27/1747][m. 1/03/1740 Louis Marchand], Genevieve [8/29/1717-6/26/1748][m. 11/19/1736 Jean-Baptiste Raux], Joseph [3/27/1719-3/25/1784][m. 7/07/1761 Marie Judith Elisabeth Roy Desjardins], Francois-Marie [11/03/1721-6/12/1723] & Antoine [6/10/1723-6/12/1723].3 Joseph departed this life on Thursday, 31 December 1722 in Champlain at age 35 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of la Visitation on Friday, 1 January 1723.4
