Robert Maltby

M, b. before 1 April 1609, d. after 10 November 1660
     Robert was born in Springthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. He was christened there on 1 April 1609 in St. George and St. Lawrence Church.1 He was the son of John Maltbie and Margaret Bishop. Robert married Anne (?) in Lincolnshire, England. Robert & Anne had children: Wlliam, Robert, John, Daniel & Barbara. His brother mentions that he is of Bawtry when he wrote his will on 6 October 1647. He was a merchant in London. Robert made his will on 10 November 1660 at Bawtry, Lincolnshire, England.

He leaves his eldest son William Maltby land I had with his Mother in Clarebrough, Marhouse and house in East Retford. Second son Robert Maltby the house I now live in, land called Catt's Bethey Mooreland at Springthorpe in Lincolnshire and to be executor. His son John Maltby under 21, £200. His cousin John Chatterton - - -Fourth son Daniel Maltby the Crowns [refers to the Crown Inn at Bowtry]. His daughter Barbara Maltby £200. - - - His nephew John Chatterton 20s. - - - His cousin Ratshall Willimson 10s. - - - Sister Mary Long £5. His nephews Robert Maltbie £5. John Maltby. Robert departed this life after 10 November 1660 in Bawtry, Lincolnshire, England. His will was probated between 1663 and 1665. It was filed in the Perogative Court Yorkshire.3
