Michel Marcotte

     Michel was born in 1692 in Neuville, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Jacques Marcotte and Elisabeth Isabelle Salle. Michel married Marie-Francoise Jugnac on 12 November 1720 in Cap-Sante, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada, at Ste-Familie Church.¹ Michel & Marie-Francois had children: Marie-Francoise [9/23/1721-9/051795][m. 1/03/1763 Antoine Blais], Michel [2/22/1723-3/06/1789][m. 2/16/1756 Marie-Josephte Heroux dit Bourguinville & 2nd 2/10/1772 Therese Dufault], Francois [2/22/1723], Marie Marguerite [1/25/1725-7/22/1756][m. 5/15/1752 Ignace Langloi] & Marie-Madeleine [12/27/1726-7/26/1769].² Michel's wife, Marie-Francoise, died circa 28 January 1727 in Cap-Sante, leaving him a widower. Michel married 2nd Marie-Louise Richard on 2 August 1728 in Cap-Sante at Ste-Familie Church.³ Michel & Marie-Louise had children: Rene [10/02/1730-5/15/1800][m. 11/22/1751 Marguerite Marie Anne Gauthier], Alexis [9/25/1732][m. 8/09/1761 Marie-Catherine Frenette], Jean-Baptiste-Francois [9/25/1732-9/12/1814][m. 2/14/1760 Marie-Josephe Lesieur dit Lapierre], Marie Josephe [12/06/1734-1/28/1811][m. 8/31/1767 Jean-Baptiste Proulx], Marie-Louise [2/10/1737-12/28/1770][m. 8/01/1768 Pierre Jette], Joseph [3/23/1739-2/09/1806][m. 1/01/1761 Marie Genevieve Paquin], Marie Angelique [9/05/1740-9/06/1792][m. 3/05/1764 Pierre Lamy] & Genevieve [3/22/1742-2/11/1809].⁴ Michel departed this life on Sunday, 16 August 1744 in Cap-Sante at age 52 years. He was buried there in Ste-Familie Church on Monday, 17 August 1744.⁵
