Thomas was born on Wednesday, 4 December 1680 at Long Neck, Westchester, Westchester County, New York, at 12:00 pm. He was the son of Josiah Hunt I and Martha (?) Thomas married Rachel Arnold, daughter of Isaac Arnold and Sarah (?), on 8 January 1707 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.3 Thomas's wife, Rachel, died before 2 December 1737 in Westchester, Westchester County, New York, leaving him a widower. Thomas married 2nd Mary Anna Patrick, daughter of Daniel Patrick and Dinah Yates, on 2 December 1737 in New York. They were married at the Quaker monthly meeting.4 Thomas made his will on 26 July 1756 at Westchester, Westchester County, New York.
In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Hunt of the Borough Town of Westchester in the Province of Ne York Esq. being far advanced in years do make & declare my last Will & Testament in manner following – First I commit my Soul into the hands of God that gave it & my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named hoping for pardon of all my sins thro the merits & intercession of my blessed Saviour & Redeemer Jesus Christ and as touching my Worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with I do dispose thereof as follows that is to say 1st I order that all my just debts & funeral charges be duely paid in some convenient time after my decease 2nd I give & devise unto my Eldest son Stephen Hunt a lott of Salt Meadow containing four acres & a half which I bought of William Lawrence lying on the West side of Barretto Creek in the Borough of Westchester also a twenty five Pound privilege in the Commonage or Sheep pasture at Westchester To hold ot him the said Stephen Hunt his heirs & assigns forever and the reason I now give him no more is because I have provided for him already according to my ability. 3rd I give & devise unto my son Charles Hunt & to his heirs & assigns forever all those two Tracts or parcells of land which I bought of the Executors of Moses Fowler by deed bearing date the fourteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty five which land is situate in the Township of Eastchester in a place called Longreach and both Tracts contain one hundred acres as by the same Deed relation being thereunto may fully and at large appear 4th I give & devise unto my Son Elvin Hunt and to his heirs and assigns for ever all the rest residue & remainder of my Real Estate not herein before disposed of whatsoever & wheresoever as Houses Lands Tenements & hereditaments upon Condition nevertheless THAT HE MY said son Evlin Hunt his heirs & assigns do permit & suffer my Wife Mary Hunt to have use occupy possess & Enjoy all & singular my said Residuary Real Estate for her own use benefit & advantage until my said Son Elvin shall attain the age of twenty one years if she my said Wife shall live so long & remain my Widow and in Case my Son Elvin shall die before he attains to the age of twenty one years without lawfull Issue then & in that case I do give & devise unto my said Wife Mary all & singular my said Residuary Real Estate To hod to her fore & during her natural give if she shall remain my Widow and in case my said Son Elvin shall attain to the age of Twenty one years or have lawfull Issue then I order my said Son or his Issue heirs or assigns to permit & suffer my said Wife Mary to have & enjoy one Room in my house which she shall chose to live in & to have one third part of all my said Residuary Real Estate as long as she shall remain my Widow which privilege I hereby give her & do enjoyn him & them to see that these conditions be performed according to the true intent & meaning hereof 5th In case my son Elven shall die before he attains to the age of twenty one years without Lawfull Issue as aforesaid in some convenient time after the death or remarriage of my said Wife Mary I hereby Imposer & Authorize my Grand Sons Silvester Hunt son of my Son Stephen Robert Hunt Junior Son of my daughter Christian & John Hunt Son of my daughter Allethea or the survivor or survivors of them to Sell & dispose of all & singular my said Residuary Real Estate at Venue or otherwise as they shall think fit and to make & Execute good & sufficient Deeds & Conveyances in the law to the purchaser or purchasers thereof and the mmonys ariseing therefrom I order to be Equally divided amongst my Children & grand Child namely my sons Stephen Hunt Charles Hunt my daughter Allethea the Wife of John Hunt Anna Leggett the Wife of John Leggett, Helena the Wife of Jonathan Odell, Martha Tippett the Wife of James Tippett, Myanna Hunt & my Grand son the said Robert Hunt Junior to be paid to them in some convenient time after the Sale of my said Residuary Real Estate each an equal part share & share alike – Item I give to my daughter Anna the Wife of John Leggett the sum of ten pounds to be paid her within two years after my decease out of my moveable Estate to the heir or heirs of my daughter Christian the sum of five pounds to be paid within two year after my decease out of my moveable Estate Item I give to my daughter Allethea the Wife of John Hunt one large Silver Tankard one cubboard & two silver Table spoons I also give unto her daughter Elizabeth one feather bed Blanket Bolster & Pillow & one pair of Sheets Item I give to my daughter Helena the Wife of Jonathan Odell the sum of five pounds to be paid to her within two years after my decease out of my moveable Estate Item I give to my daughter Martha the Wife of James Tippett the sum of five pounds to be paid to her within two years after my decease out my moveable Estate I give to my daughter Myanna Hunt the sum o one hundred pounds to be paid out of my moveable Estate - 6th I give unto my Wife Mary over and above what I have already given her two of my negros & do hereby give her the Liberty to Choose any two of them which she shall think fit to her own proper use forever I likewise give unto my said Wife the one full & equal third part of all the rest residue & remainder of my movable or personal Estate which shall remain after the foregoing Legacies & debt are paid to her own proper use forever the which with what I have herein before allowed her is in full satisfaction and Barr of her right of Dower in my Estate and the other two full & equal parts of my said Residuary moveable or Personal Estate I give & bequeath the same unto my two children namely my son Elvin Hunt & daughter Myanna Hunt and to their Executors Administrator & assigns Equally to be divide between them Share & share alike Lastly I nominate & appoint my loving Wife Mary Hunt Sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament hereby making void all former Wills by me made declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & Seal in
