John Hunt

M, b. circa 1674, d. before 16 January 1711/12
     John was born circa 1674 in Throgs Neck, Westchester County, New York, at "Grove Farm". He was the son of Thomas Hunt II and Elizabeth Jessop. John married Grace Fowler, daughter of Henry Fowler III and Rebecca Newell, circa 1691. John & Grace had children: Deborah [m. Mr. Baxter], Mary [m. Nathaniel Underhill II], Obadiah, James, Jerimiah [and/or Joshua] & John [1699]. The father leaves in his will to son Jeremiah and the mother son Joshua. Jeremiah & Joshua may be the same or they may be two different sons. John made his will on 7 January 1711/12.

John Hunt, Westchester Leaves to son James “all my land, 30 acres more or less on Throgmorton’s neck with all meadow adjoining”, and £ 25 priviledge of Commonage when he is 21. The land lies adjoining the land given to my son Jeremiah. Also leaves to son James 6 acres at the land lying betwixt Grove Siahs* and Horseman Molliners’ land. To son John my homestead, 60 acres with meadows thereto belonging and £ 25 Commonage, and all the land I bought of John Disbrow, and 5acres of the land between Grove Siahs and Horseman Mollinars. To son Jeremiah £ 25 Commonage. To wife Grace the use of personal estate. Makes wife Grace and brother Josiah Hunt executors.

John departed this life in Westchester.2 His will was probated on 16 January 1711/12.
