Humphrey Johnson1

Humphrey was born circa 5 November 1620 in Herne Hill [Greater London], County Middlesex, England. On 5 November 1620, he was christened in Great Amwell, Herefordshire, England, at St. John the Baptist Church. He was the son of John Johnson and Mary Heath. Humphrey married Elinor Cheney on 20 March 1643. Humphrey first settled at Scituate nad later removed to Hingham. Humphrey's wife, Elinor, died on 29 September 1678 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, leaving him a widower.2 Humphrey married 2nd Abigail Stansfield on 6 December 1678 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She was first married to Samuel May. Humphrey departed this life on Friday, 24 July 1693 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
