     Moses was born circa 1718 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of William Horton and Mary (?) Moses married Mary Sweazy circa 1725 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Moses is listed in the Oath of Allegiance of 1778 as being 60 years old & a farmer.
Moses is mentioned in his brother, Deacon William 's will when he mentions Mehitable, daughter of his deceased brother and it is witnessed by Micah Horton. Micah is a son of Moses. Moses departed this life on Friday, 28 May 1779 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.2
