Ermentrude de Hainaut

     Ermentrude de was born circa 1003 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France. She was the daughter of Reginar de Hainaut and Hedwig de Capet. She was buried in Nivelles, Hainaut, France, in Collegiate Church of St. Gertrude. Her existence was not known of until during an escavation a lead cross with her name and the name of her parents inscribed upon it was found in her tomb.¹ Ermentrude departed this life circa 1005 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France.
