Johann Philip Haag

     Johann Philip was born on Thursday, 11 April 1771 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John George Haag and Anna Margaretha Bechtel. On 5 May 1771, he was christened in Bernville, Berks County, Pennsylvania, at Northkill Church. Christening records note his sponsons: Christopher Kern & wife Catharine Margaret.¹ Johann married Charlotta Bosshart circa 1790 in Pennsylvania. Johann departed this life on Wednesday, 17 July 1850 in Milville Township, Butler County, Ohio, at age 79 years, 3 months and 6 days. He was buried there in Brosius Cemetery.
