Mary Forthe

F, b. 1 January 1583, d. June 1615
     Mary was born on Saturday, 1 January 1583 in Great Stanbridge, County Essex, England. She was the daughter of John Forthe & Thomasaine Hilles. She was the sole heiress of their estate.1 Mary married John Winthrop, son of Adam Winthrop III and Anne Browne, on 16 April 1605 in Great Stanbridge, County Essex, England. Mr. Culverwell performed the ceremony. John & Mary had children: John [2/22/1606-4/05/1676], Henry [1/10/1608-7/02/1630], Forthe [12/30/1609-11/23/1630], Mary [1/19/1612-4/12/1643][m. 1633 Samuel Dudley], Anne [chr. 8/08/1614-burial 8/16/1614] & Anne [chr. 6/26/66661616-burial 6/29/1616].2,3,4,5 Mary departed this life in June 1615 in Groton Manor, County Suffolk, England, at age 32 years and 5 months. She was buried there in the Groton Chancel in the family tomb.
