Joseph Ferris

     Joseph was born on Wednesday, 20 June 1635 in New Towne, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Jeffrey Ferris and Mary. Joseph married Ruth Knapp on the 20th day of the 9th month 1657.¹ Joseph & Ruth had children: John [1658] [m. 12/13/1695 Abigail Hoyt, ]Ruth [1/18/1658/59-9/17/1745] [m.11/27/1686 Rev. Samuel Peck], Peter [11/081660-1/23/1689/90], James [ca. 1662-7/__/1727], Moses [ca. 1664-ca.1748], Joshua [3/31/1666-4/02/1746], Benjamin Ferris [ca. 1668-7/10/1710], Hannah [ca. 1673-4/12/1711] [m. 1691 Jonathan Austin], Lydia [ca. 1675], Caleb [-1752], Joseph 3/31/1683] [m. Abigail Smith]. In 1665, he resided in Greenwich, Connecticut.He was a reprepesentive to the General Court in 1681 to 1682. Joseph made his will on 5 June 1699. Joseph departed this life in 1699 in Greenwich at age 63 years. The inventory of Joseph's estate was taken on Friday, 24 July 1699. His will was probated on 27 November 1699.
