George Cornish
M, b. circa 1540, d. before 6 February 1608
George was born circa 1540 in Tiverton, Devonshire, England.1 He was the son of Walter Cornish. George married Mary Lawrence circa 1563 in Tiverton. In 1569, George appears on a muster lilst as a gonner.2 On his death bed, he made a nuncupative will. George departed this life in Tiverton. He was buried there in St. Peter's Churchyard on Wednesday, 6 February 1608.1 His will was probated in 1608 at Court of the Archdeaconry, Exeter, Devonshire, England.3

A harquebus is an ancient firearm that was about 3 feet long and weighing 10 pounds. To fire it gunpowdeer was ignited in a pan by means of a wick. It had a range of from 20 to 50 yards.
