Josiah Chapin

M, b. before 29 October 1637, d. 10 September 1726
     Josiah was born in the parish of Berry Palmeroy, Devonshire, England. He was christened there on 29 October 1637 in St. Mary's Church.1 He was the son of Deacon Samuel Chapin and Cecily Penny. Josiah married Mary King on 30 November 1658.2 John & Mary had children: Samuel [11/11/1659-4/10/1692], John [6/11/1661-2/22/1686], Mary [8/27/1662-6/14/1687], Deborah [6/16/1664-8/16/1668], Josiah [12/17/1665-5/20/1693], Shem [5/11/1667-6/06/1667], Seth [8/04/1668-4/01/1746], Joseph [5/17/1670-4/__/1722], Henry [2/15/1671-3/21/1671], Ephraim [12/18/1673] & Deborah [2/12/1675-4/09/1702].3 Josiah's wife, Mary, died on 30 May 1676 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, leaving him a widower.3 Josiah married 2nd Lydia Brown on 20 September 1676 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.3 Josiah & Lydia had children: Lydia [9/29/1677-3/31/1758], Sarah [3/12/1679-5/16/1773], David [11/11/1680-10/04/1704] & Hannh [11/11/1684-4/12/1770].3 Josiah's wife, Lydia, died on 18 October 1711 in Mendon, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, leaving him a widower. Josiah married 3rd Mehitable Hand on 22 June 1713 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.3 Josiah's wife, Mehitable, died on 2 December 1724 in Mendon, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, leaving him a widower. Josiah departed this life on Tuesday, 10 September 1726 in Mendon.3,4
