     Abigail was born circa 1755 in Jericho in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of Joseph Carpenter IV and Elizabeth Townsend. Abigail married William Cook on 2 March 1779. [1st month] William was of Stamford, Connecticut.
