Pierre Caillas

Pierre was born in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 16 June 1692 in the church of La Visitation.1 He was the son of Pierre Caillas and Marie-Therese Aure. Pierre married Marie-Catherine Neveu on 12 January 1722 in Champlain at the church of La Visitation.2 Pierre & Marie-Catherine had children: Marie-Marguerite [11/05/1722-10/06/1807][m. 2/16/1741 Joseph-Marie Rainville],
Antoine-Alexis [5/08/17824-6/08/1725], Therese [1727-3/08/1813][m. 1/30/1747 Antoine-Regis Valois & 2nd 10/19/1756 Jean-Baptiste Coutu] & Joseph [4/14/1730-1/25/1794][m. 4/24/1752 Marie Josephe Carpentier].3 Pierre's wife, Marie-Catherine, died circa 22 April 1731 in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Pierre married 2nd Marguerite Brisset on 16 February 1743 in Ile-DuPas at the church of La Visitation.4 Pierre's second wife, Marguerite Brisset, was a daughter of the Lord of Dupas Island. After their marriage the couple took up residence in this new parish. While living on the island, Pierre became captain of the Militia, a Cantor at the church and a church warden. After the Lord of the Isle, and the priest of the parish, Pierre was the most respected personage in this new parish.5 Pierre drowned in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada, on Tuesday, 14 October 1766.5 He was buried there in the churchyard of La Visitation on Wednesday, 15 October 1766.6
