Jean Caillas

M, b. 9 June 1702, d. circa 30 April 1792
     Jean was born on Friday, 9 June 1702 in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 10 June 1702 in the church of La Visitation.1 He was the son of Pierre Caillas and Marie-Therese Aure. Jean married Marguerite Marchand on 8 January 1739 in Batiscan, Les Chenaux, Quebec, Canada, at Ste-Genevieve Church.2 Jean & Marguerite had children: son [11/30/1741-11/30/1741] & Jean [9/04/1743-1/28/1836][m. 2/27/1775 Marguerite Carpentier dit Bailly].3 Jean's wife, Marguerite, died circa 5 September 1743 in Batiscan, leaving him a widower. Jean married 2nd Marie-Francoise Trottier on 27 June 1745 in Batiscan at St-Francois-Xavier Church.4 Jean & Francoise had children: Alexis [4/07/1746-9/05/1746], Marc-Antoine [5/07/1747-6/01/1810][m. 1/07/1782 Marie-Catherine Papillau Perigny], Pierre-Hyacinthe [8/22/1748-4/11/1831][m. 11/03/1774 Marie Charles Martel], daughter [8/22/1749-8/22/1749], child [7/03/1750-7/03/1750], Marguerite [12/03/1751-11/12/1845][m. 5/12/1777 Francois-Amable Marchand] & Marie-Francoise [10/09/1753-10/24/1753].5 Jean's wife, Marie-Francoise, died circa 27 December 1789 in Batiscan, leaving him a widower. Jean departed this life in Batiscan. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Francois Xavier on Monday, 30 April 1792.6
