     Jennie Mae was born on Monday, 13 October 1902 in Oceola Township, Livingston County, Michigan. She was the daughter of John W. Botsford & Anna Phippips. Jennie Mae married Leo Parshall Howell, son of Floyd Parshall Howell and Lucy Ann Mapes, on 30 June 1928. Leo & Jennie had children: John Robert [9/14/1931-10/06/2010] [m. 12/21/1952 Clarice Ruth Crippen], Duane [9/27/1934] [m. Dianna] & Marilynn [2/11/1937] [m. 7/__/1959 Richard Rider [9/03/1937-4/13/2021].] 14 April 1930, Jennie listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Oceola Township. Enumerated in this household were Leo Hoell [29 Michigan], his wife: Jennie [25 Michigan] & servant: Ida Elwell [59 New York] & lodger: Elmer Booth [20 Michigan]. Leo was 27 years old when 1st married & Jennie was 23 years old. He was a general farmer.¹ 10 May 1940, Jennie and her husband, Leo, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Oceola Township. Enumerated in this household were Leo Howell [39 Michigan], his wife: Jennie [37 Michigan], John Robert [8 Michigan], Duane [5 Michigan] & Marilyn [3 Michigan]. They are renting for $15. per month.² Jennie's husband, Leo, died on 14 July 1978 in Howell leaving her a widow.³ Jennie departed this life on Thursday, 5 October 1989 in Novi, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 86 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was buried at Howell in the Lakeview Cemetery.
