James Benedict

M, b. circa 1647
     James was born circa 1647 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of Thomas Benedict and Mary Bridgham. James married Sarah Gregory on 10 May 1676 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut.1 James & Sarah had children: Sarah [6/16/1677], Rebecca [1679-3/20/1709][m. 1/17/1705 Samuel Keeler Jr.], Phebe [1682] & James [1685-6/23/1761] [m. Mary Andrus], John [10/__/1689-2/__1771].2 James's wife, Sarah, died circa 1692 in Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower. James married 2nd Sarah Porter circa 1693 in Danbury.3 James & Sarah had children: Thomas [11/09/1694-7/04/1776] [m. Abigail Hoyt] & Elizabeth [7/__/1696].1
