Zeruiah Wright1

     Zeruiah was born in 1715 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of Edmund Wright II and Sarah Townsend. Zeruiah married John Wright on 15 April 1736 in Oyster Bay Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Zeruiah was of Suckscally Wigwam, L. 1. [Cedar Swamp]. John & Zeruiah had children: John [1737- ][m. 1st 2/08/1763 Sarah Van Wyck 2nd 1/04/1783 Margaret Floyd], William [1738- 9/12/1740]; Elizabeth [9/02/1741-1/21/1823][m. 7/23/1761 Capt. Abraham Van Wyck [3/22/1738-2/05/1809]], Nicholas [3/27/1744-9/21/1795], Anne [8/27/1746-2/11/1836][m. 1st Robert Crooker, Jr. [1736- ] 2nd Joshua Hammond [1750-2/27/1826]], William [10/21/1748-3/11/1820]. Zeruiah's husband, John, died on 12 January 1750 leaving her a widow. Zeruiah departed this life on Saturday, 17 September 1791 in Oyster Bay Town at age 76 years.
