William Willis

     William was born on Monday, 14 June 1688 in Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of William and Mary Willis. William married Hannah Powell, daughter of Thomas Powell and Elizabeth Townsend, in 1712 in Bethpage in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. William and Hannah had children: Mary [6/11/1713] [m. Wm. Bedell], Hannah [2/27/1715] [m. Micah Spragg], Elisabeth [1716] [m. Richard Post], Rachel 9/05/1718-9/12/1738], Jacob [7/05/1720] [m. Elisabeth Denton], Samuel [2/27/1721] [m. Mary Wright, dau. of Joseph, of Westbury], Amy [1723-1729], Mordecai 12/04/1725] [m. 1752 Mary Clements], Silas [9/05/1727-1750], Martha 9/29/1729], William [2/05/1730] [m. 1756 Sarah Clements] & Joseph [6/15/1734]. William departed this life on Wednesday, 6 May 1750 in Queens County, Long Island, New Netherlands, at age 61 years, 10 months and 22 days.
