Sarah Washbourne1

F, b. before 26 March 1626, d. before 19 May 1693
     Sarah was born in Bengeworth, Wickenford Parish, Worchestershire, England.2 She was christened there on 26 March 1626 in the parish church of St. Peter.3,4 She was the daughter of William Washbourne and Jane Whitehead. Sarah married Robert Williams before 3 August 1657 in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. On this day, they were mentioned in Sara's father's will. Robert & Sarah had children: John, Sarah [m. Mr. Champian], Patience [m. Mr. Barnes], Mary [m. Mr. Dale], Phebe [m. Mr. Townsend], Hester [m. Mr. Cock] & Hope. Sarah's husband, Robert, died before 14 February 1692/93 in Jericho in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Sarah made her will on 14 February 1692/93 at Jericho in the Town of Oyster Bay.

Wiliams, Sarah, widow of Robert Williams, of Lusam, alias Jericho, 14 Feb., 1692/93. Youngest dau., Hester Cock, to have use of the house standing in the old orchard during her widowhood, with remainder to my oldest son, John Williams. A negro to be sold, and the proceeds to be divided among my five daus.: Sarah Champion, Patience Barns, Mary Dale, Phebe Townsend, & Hester Cock. To my granddaughter, Hannah Simmons, a cow. My youngest son Hope Williams, to have the house & land, and all the debts he can recover that were due his father Robert in the Province of Maryland. My oldest son John to have all other debts. Overseers: son-in-law John Townsend, and friends Thos. Powell, Sr., & John Dewsbury. Wits: Martha Titus, Mary Miller, & Richard Willetts.5

Sarah departed this life in Jericho in the Town of Oyster Bay. Her will was probated on 19 May 1693.
