Richard Whitney

     Richard was born on Friday, 18 April 1687 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was the son of John Whitney and Elizabeth Smith. Richard married Hannah Darling on 7 April 1709 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. On 18 October 1709, Richard's father gave him land in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. On 27 April 1713, he was granted a piece of land to build a home & saw-mill by the town meeting on a part called Stratfield Society, which lay in the town of Fairfield.
