Henry Whitney1,2

     Henry was born on Friday, 21 February 1680/81 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was the son of John Whitney and Elizabeth Smith. Henry married Elizabeth Olmsted, daughter of Lieut. John Olmsted and Mary Benedict, on 14 June 1710 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Henry sold his property in Norwalk to his brother, John on 8 July 1712. He removed to Ridgefield, Connecticut where he was one of the earliest settlers. He owned one of the choice homelosts. He was a weaver. He and his wife spent their life there. Henry departed this life on Monday, 26 April 1728 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was buried in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was probably buried in an old graveyard south of the village.
